Alfie Boe to perform on P&O cruise

Alfie Boe

Singing superstar Alfie Boe is to perform on P&O’s Azura next May half-term and the cruise goes on sale today, Your-Hols can reveal.

The tenor will kick-start a number of new P&O short breaks next year. The best-selling recording artist will perform on family-friendly Azura during a four-night cruise during the May half-term school holiday. A further three short break cruises are also available later in the year.

P&O Cruises marketing director Christopher Edgington said: “We are thrilled to have Alfie Boe performing on Azura. He’s a big name British act who has performed to huge crowds at the O2 Arena, Royal Albert Hall and Buckingham Palace. This will be a very special and intimate performance, which passengers of all ages can enjoy, for no extra charge other than the price of the cruise.

“These short break cruises are a great alternative to a hotel/city break and perfect for those who have never cruised before. Explore a city with a day of sightseeing and shopping, then enjoy everything the ship has to offer – from fine dining, pampering in the spa, cocktails in the bars, dancing in the clubs, or a flutter in the casino.”

All cruises depart from and return to Southampton. New short breaks include:

The four-night cruise with Alfie Boe to Belgium and Guernsey on Azura (A413) departs May 26. Prices start from £329 per person for an Early Saver fare. On sale today, December 1.

A three-night cruise break to Belgium on Aurora (R419) departing October 11. Prices start from £279 per person for a Select Price fare.

A four-night cruise break to Amsterdam and Belgium on Oriana (X426) departing November 6. Prices start from £299 per person for a Select Price fare.

A four-night cruise break to Amsterdam and Belgium on Oceana (E432) departing December 13, 2014. Prices start from £349 per person for a Select Price fare.

Alfie shot to fame while starring in Baz Luhrmann’s La Boheme on Broadway, winning a Tony Award for his performance. He later played to thousands as Jean Valjean in the 25th Anniversary Performance of Les Miserables at London’s 02 Arena. Last summer, he stole the show performing for The Queen at her Diamond Jubilee Concert at Buckingham Palace. And he makes his acting debut soon, guest starring in the second series of the ITV period drama Mr Selfridge.
