Behind the scenes at Downton Abbey

If you’ve always wanted to get behind the scenes at Downtown Abbey, now’s your chance. Blenheim Palace will be offering a special insight into the Abbey’s ‘body double’ later this month.

The Oxfordshire estate, principle residence of the dukes of Marlborough and Downton’s double in the popular TV series, will be welcoming author Jessica Fellowes to host a lunchtime event on Thursday, February 26. Visitors are invited to join Jessica at the World Heritage Site for the exclusive talk.

Jessica is the niece of Downton Abbeywriter and creator Julian Fellowes. She will be discussing her most recent book A Year in the Life of Downton Abbey, which draws upon the history of, and tales from, Jessica’s family.

The event will feature a champagne reception in estate’s The Orangery, followed by a three-course lunch with wine and coffee. After lunch visitors will enjoy a talk by Jessica who will discuss the real-life inspiration behind the award-winning ITV show.

Guests will receive a signed copy of Jessica’s book.

Tickets are priced at £99. See blenheimpalace.com
