Celebrate Sir Winston Churchill’s Birthday at Blenheim Palace

This Saturday, you can celebrate Sir Winston Churchill’s birthday at Blenheim Palace.

The stately home, where Churchill was both born and got married, will have a Churchill impersonator present and visitors will get the chance to learn more about the life of the statesman by experiencing Churchill commemorative activities, as well as exploring a new Memorial Garden designed by Kim Wilkie and opened by The Duchess of Cornwall in June.

Blenheim Palace’s expert guides will also be leading three specialist tours throughout the day, giving a fascinating insight into the life and career of Sir Winston Churchill, who was born at Blenheim Palace.

There’s also a Winston Churchill Premier Afternoon Tea in the Indian Room at Blenheim Palace that includes a glass of his favourite Champagne, Pol Roger Brut Réserve NV.

A new indoor and outdoor trail journeys through his life and achievements, and showcases some of the key moments in his life, from the room in which he was born inside the Palace, through the grounds he explored as a child and the spot in which he proposed, to his place of rest in St Martin’s church yard in the neighbouring village of Bladon.

The day can end at the Churchill Exhibition with artefacts and references to life events including the proposal to his wife Clementine.
