Cheaper Easter holiday packages

Majorca

There are cheaper Easter holiday packages on sale this year because the celebration falls later in April.

There are more destinations and resorts open for families resulting in lower prices, says lowcostholidays. The company has 84 per cent more hotels on sale this Easter than last year – when the holiday was at the end of March – including in Greece, Turkey and Majorca, above.

With more airlines flying to European sunshine destinations from the first week of April too, holidaymakers can take advantage of great value holidays this Easter. Searches on the lowcostholidays website for Easter holidays are up 60% compared to last year with the top searches for holidays to Malta, Turkey, Greece and Majorca.

City breaks are also big sellers with Barcelona and Marrakech most popular as Easter short break destinations with a cultural flavour. Lowcostholidays MD Tim Buckman said: “Bookings for Easter holidays are up compared to last year with many holidaymakers looking to escape the wet weather that the UK has been enduring for the last few months.

“The greater choice of destinations available this Easter means that holidays are also cheaper than last year. There are still some great deals to be snapped up over the Easter weekend.”

A seven-night self-catering holiday in Majorca at a four-star hotel costs from £190 per person including flights from Stansted on April13 for two adults and two children and seven nights for a family of two adults and two children at a four-star hotel in Crete on a half-board basis with flights from Leeds-Bradford on April 12 from £221 per person.
