A new hotel has opened this week in the Scottish Capital Edinburgh.
Formerly The Point Hotel, the 138-bedroom DoubleTree by Hilton on Bread Street has undergone a £4.2m renovation to join the Hilton group.
Set in an 1892 building in Edinburgh’s historic Old Town, the hotel is within walking distance of the capital’s famous tourist attractions and shopping hotspots of the Royal Mile and Princes Street.
Standard rooms feature contemporary furnishings and free wi-fi, while deluxe rooms and suites offer views of iconic Edinburgh Castle. It has two bar-restaurants, the Monboddo Bar and the Bread Street Brasseries, while the on the first Thursday of every month, the hotel’s Penthouse venue will become a Skybar, serving cocktails against the background of Edinburgh’s skyline.
The hotel also has a 24-hour fitness centre with cardio equipment and free weights plus a conference venue with space for 120 guests.
Ronald Little the hotel’s general manager said: “The building has a rich history in the city and it has been wonderful to see it so carefully transformed into a truly remarkable property. My team and I are looking forward to welcoming guests.”
The hotel chain has three other Scottish hotels in Dunblane, Aberdeen and Dundee.
