Enjoy weeks of FREE family fun at Land’s End

Land's End

Families can enjoy weeks of FREE family fun at Land’s End. Staff at the most Westerly point in England have prepared five weeks of free family fun, kicking off on July 25 and running to the end of August.

Highlights this summer at the Landmark Attraction include a visit from an 8ft robot, a daredevil high-flying acrobatics show, live canon firings and the return of Land’s End’s popular fireworks extravaganza.

Event days are themed to celebrate pirates, children and all things Cornish, while local bands including the Cornish Wurzels will provide live music.

Magic in the Skies, Land’s End’s spectacular fireworks display set to music, will take place every Tuesday and Thursday evening, starting on July 25 and rounding off the summer on August 31.

David Bryans, general manager at Land’s End, said: “We can’t wait to get the summer started and are making final preparations for the thousands of visitors set to arrive at Land’s End over the next few weeks.

“There will be fun for all the family throughout the school holidays, but Tuesdays and Thursdays will be our special event days. I’m particularly looking forward to the visit of giant pirate Captain Benbow, getting up close to birds of the prey from the Screech Owl Sanctuary and meeting Titan the 8ft robot.

“There’s just so much going on – Star Gun Company will be doing hourly canon firing demonstrations on Pirate Day, Billy Wizz will be performing magic tricks on Children’s Day and Warren’s Bakery, the oldest pasty makers in the world, will be doing demonstrations of how they create that famous pasty crimp on Cornish Day.

“Visitors only have to pay for parking and any activities they want to enjoy – the entertainment itself is all free of charge.”
