Flybe launches flights from London City airport

Flybe

Flybe has announced it is launching flights from London City Airport. The seven new routes from October 27 are to Aberdeen, Inverness, Edinburgh, Exeter, Belfast, Dublin and Amsterdam.

The airline is also about to reward passengers by teaming up with Avios – which converts points into flights and other travel rewards.

And there’s more from the airline which flies out of 36 airports. Flybe is launching a hop-on, hop-off service. A daily return Flybe shuttle will operate from Jersey to Aberdeen, stopping off at Southampton and Leeds on the way. Travellers can book any part of the journey.

Paul Simmons, Chief Commercial Officer, said: “There will be 30 take-offs and landings a day from London City airport. Fifty per cent of our passengers are business customers so it makes sense to launch flights from the city’s financial hub. Flybe is all about connecting regions, making life easier for people by having a high frequency of flights such as seven flights a day from Birmingham to Belfast.”

Avios MD Gavin Halliday said: “The rewards programme is a significant evolution for the Flybe business, loyalty is emerging as a big component of customer choice. It’s a win, win for customers. They can burn what they earn.”

Customers, who will get 2 Avios per £ spent, can pre-register on www.flybe.com/avios and to book flights see www.flybe.com
