Follow Palin to Brazil

Follow in the footsteps of Michael Palin in Brazil. Voyages of Discovery is offering a South American cruise which visits some of the destinations in Palin’s new four-part BBC1 series. And the first 50 people to make a booking will receive a signed copy of his book which accompanies the show.

There’s no better time to visit Brazil which is already buzzing with excitement as it prepares for the 2014 World Cup followed two years later by the Rio Olympics. You’ll spend a night in Rio, Brazil’s most vibrant city visiting highlights such as Sugar Loaf Mountain and there’s a free excursion to Rio’s Botanical Gardens – one of the greatest tropical botanical gardens in the world and home to a variety of local birds, fish, mammals and plants. You will already have seen Santos (Sao Paulo), Ilhabela and Paraty along the Brazilian coast before leaving Rio for Salvador de Bahia to dance to the samba and then to Recife.

You’ll fly from the UK on February 24 to join mv Voyager in Buenos Aires, Argentina, to begin the 18-day cruise, costing from £1,999 per person (based on two people sharing an inside cabin). Price include return flights from a major London airport and all overseas transfers, talks by eminent guest speakers, meals and entertainment on board, all on-board gratuities and port and airport taxes/fees.

Visit www.voyagesofdiscovery.com or call 0844 822 0820. The book Brazil, by Michael Palin, is published by Weidenfeld & Nicolson, out now priced £25.
