If you want to see the Northern Lights, you can’t beat this offer – a free cruise if the Aurora Borealis decides not to put in an appearance.
Hurtigruten is reviving its unique promise and there’s more – free flights from Gatwick or Heathrow to join one of their “hunting the lights” cruise ships in Norway and wine or beer with your dinner.
YourHols Trisha joined Hurtigruten in January and was lucky enough to see the lights. But, on one of the stopovers, she did come across a honeymoon couple who were about to leave Norway having never clapped eyes on the amazing display. So an offer like this would have been a real bonus to them.
The Northern Lights Promise is open to passengers booking a 12-day Classic Round Voyage for departure between October 2015 and February 2016 inclusive.
Staff on-board Hurtigruten’s 11 ships will be scouring the night skies and announce any sightings of the lights. (Trisha was woken at 2am and scrambled to the deck).
However, if they don’t appear during the voyage, Hurtigruten will offer guests the choice of a free 7-day Classic Voyage North, or 6-day Classic Voyage South in an inside twin cabin (voyage-only, b&b basis), departing between October 2016 and March 2017.
Also, those booking a voyage departing in October, November and December 2015, will get flights from Heathrow or Gatwick included, plus wine or beer with their evening meals.

Prices for an inside cabin on full board basis (based on two sharing) and including the free flights and wine package start from £1,197, on a choice of dates (including 30 October 2015). Regional flights are available for small supplement.
Alternatively guests travelling in early 2016 can book an inside cabin on full board basis (based on two sharing), on a choice of dates in January 2016 (including 22 January) for just £995 per person. Flight and transfer packages start from an additional £330 per person.
The Classic Round Voyage hugs the Norwegian coastline from Bergen up to Kirkenes, where it turns around and starts its journey south back to Bergen. There are more than 50 experiences on offer along the way including a husky sledge or thrilling rib boat ride.
