Isle of Wight gourmet getaway

Looking for some way to brighten up the dark autumn days? How about an Isle of Wight gourmet getaway?

Ferry company Wightlink has launched a trio of Isle of Wight Taste Trail breaks for November that are all dedicated to cooking local and are all priced under £185 per person, including accommodation and ferry crossings.

The midweek gourmet break takes place at Priory Bay Hotel on the Isle of Wight’s north-east coast. Set in 70 acres of woodland and gardens, the Island’s leading country house hotel offers stylish rooms and two restaurants, as well as a six-hole golf course, private beach and tennis courts. A two-night midweek break from November 5 costs from £183pp (two sharing), including B&B accommodation, a five-course Tasting Menu on one night, fruit and homemade sweets in the room, and Wightlink car ferry crossings from Portsmouth or Lymington.

Also on the north-east coast, the Seaview Hotel is offering three nights for the price of two throughout November. Located in a chic seaside sailing village, the hotel has 29 individual rooms and suites as well as a growing reputation for top-quality local food. Departing on November 8, a three-night ‘Winter Warmer’ break costs from £173pp (two sharing), including 10 per cent off food in the hotel’s restaurant and bar, and Wightlink car ferry crossings from Portsmouth or Lymington.

Further south in Ventnor, The Hambrough is also offering a three-for-two deal, which means food-lovers can snap up a three-night ferry-inclusive break at this gourmet bolthole from £180pp. There are seven guest rooms to choose from – six with sea views, and a restaurant overlooking Ventnor Bay. Departing on November 15, the three-night break includes B&B accommodation Wightlink car ferry crossings from Portsmouth or Lymington.
