Want to have your name emblazened on Thomson Airways’ sixth new Dreamliner and WIN a holiday?  

The airline is asking customers to take pictures of any of their Dreamliners and post them on Instagram. You can snap photos wherever you spot one of the whizzy planes such as holiday hotspots like Mexico, Jamaica and Thailand.

They can be in or around a 787 – so anything from stunning views out of the larger window, artistic shots of life inside the cabin or spectacular exterior shots of the plane. Then share them on @thomsonholidays or @firstchoiceholidays Instagram accounts with the tag #787pics.

Last year, Thomson Airways became the world’s first airline to crowd source a name for its first Dreamliner on Twitter and the Instagram campaign launching on Friday, November 14, is another industry first.

The initiative will run for two months across the Christmas and New Year holidays, and one lucky Instagrammer will have their first name applied to the new aircraft AND win a luxury holiday for two to the exclusive five-star Ambre Resort and Spa Thomson Couples hotel in Mauritius.

The entries will be judged by well-known Instagram photographer Jess MacDonald (@miss_jess) who, along with the panel of judges from the airline will draw up a shortlist of the five best shots. They will then be posted on the Thomson and First Choice Facebook pages and the one with the most likes from the community will be announced the winner. To celebrate the launch, Thomson Airways has painted #787pics on the side of the aircraft and holidaymakers will be able spot it as it travels around the globe.

The airline’s MD John Murphy said: “The arrival of each Dreamliner aircraft is an exciting time for Thomson Airways. We love the idea of each 787 having its own identity and using innovative ways to find a name. Using Instagram to name the latest addition to our 787 fleet is an industry first and I’m looking forward to seeing some incredible photographs.”
