Haven are spending £40 million on new restaurants, bars, accommodation and facilities at their 35 parks this year, YourHols can reveal. All the parks are having work done on them now to make sure they are ready for opening on March 18.

Bosses say they are splashing out to “keep customers happy” and to reflect their increasing popularity with a 12 per cent increase in the number of repeat new bookings. A Haven spokesman said: “We have a high proportion of repeat customers every year but what has surprised even us is the increase in the number of customers who experienced Haven for the very first time last year.”

2013 developments include:

  • Craig Tara in Ayrshire, Scotland, is extending its Mash and Barrel bar and restaurant with a new terrace overlooking the sea and getting a new fish and chip restaurant and takeaway.
