Jake Bugg to headline Ryder Cup Gala Concert

Jake Bugg is to be the headline act at the Ryder Cup Gala Concert, which will take place on September 24 to launch the biennial golf tournament between America and Europe. 

The Nottingham indie kid will be joined by Scottish stalwarts Texas and Midge Ure at the concert at the SSE Hydro in Glasgow, while Twin Atlantic, Nina Nesbitt, Eddi Reader, the Scottish Ballet, RSNO, National Theatre of Scotland and Scottish Opera are also on the bill.

The 2014 Ryder Cup takes place at Gleneagles from September 23-28 and the concert will see the official introduction of the USA and European teams by captains Paul McGinley and Tom Watson.
