Ischgl's winter season

James Blunt is to open Ischgl’s winter season. The singer-songwriter will be taking his Moon Landing tour to the mountain resort for an open-air concert against the backdrop of the Silvretta mountains.

The concert on Saturday November 29 will be free to those with a valid ski pass (€60 for the day of the concert or €88 for two days) at the resort with its 238kms of pistes.

Ischgl’s winter season opens on Thursday November 27 and will run until Sunday May 3 2015. This season sees the opening of a state-of-the-art ski lift in the Silvretta Ski Arena, following on from the opening of the Piz Val Gronda cablecar last season, giving access to 100kms of freeride.

Said Paznaun-Ischgl Tourist Director Andreas Steibl said: “The legendary Ischgl season opener is to provide spectators with world-class entertainment surrounded by ideal winter sports facilities.

“This is a unique experience. First enjoying skiing and boarding on the groomed pistes, with the live concert following in the evening.”

Special packages for the James Blunt weekend on www.ischgl.com include 4 nights’ accommodation, 3 days VIP ski pass and entrance to the opening concert from €294.50 per day.
