Join World Cup party in the Caribbean

World Cup

Love it or hate it there’s no escaping the World Cup – but it would be pretty cool watching it in the Caribbean with a couple of former soccer stars.

Buccament Bay Resort in St Vincent & The Grenadines is hosting its own World Cup party next month. Former Premiership footballers Peter Beagrie and Paul Walsh are running masterclass coaching sessions at the resort’s Liverpool FC Academy International Soccer School.

A big screen is being set up in the resort so guests can watch all World Cup games. And following the World Cup Final and other leading matches, Beagrie and Walsh will host ‘Match of the Day’ style post-game analysis sessions giving their expert opinion and you can discuss the game with them. There will also be a question and answer session, where  you can ask the pros about their careers.

Walsh has played for Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City and Liverpool FC, helping them win the League Championship and FA Cup in 1986. Beagrie was with a number of clubs including Everton and Manchester City. Beagrie is a TV pundit on Sky Sports’ Soccer Saturday and Walsh a Sky Sports columnist.

Buccament Bay Resort is renowned for its links with the beautiful game, hosting football legends throughout the year to coach at the famous football academy, with past names including John Barnes, David Fairclough, Ronnie Whelan and Andy Townsend.

The resort also hosted the FIFA World Cup trophy when it visited St Vincent & The Grenadines as part of its world tour last year.

Hate the beautiful game? Buccament Bay Resort is setting up a tranquil corner as a ‘football-free’ zone. A private pool and bar area on the edge of the beach will be reserved exclusively for those wishing to escape the World Cup and the frenzy surrounding the games. Guests can enjoy a quiet drink or just relax and completely switch off from the craziness sweeping the rest of the world.

Tropical Sky is offering seven nights all-inclusive for £1,639 (saving £990) per person for travel between July 1-14. Price is based on two adults sharing a one-bedroom garden villa and includes all coaching at the football academy, return flights with British Airways from Gatwick and transfers, including free return flights from Barbados to St Vincent.
