A place of worship has been turned into a place of rest! The 1854 Jesuit chapel in the French town of Poitiers is now the four-star Hotel Mercure, La Chapelle.
Designed by renowned French architect Magloire Tournesac, it has taken two years to transform the building in the Poitou-Charentes region, the sunniest part of western France.
The hotel has 50 rooms, some with views over the town, from £95 a night and the restaurant is located in the former nave and chancel.
