Nice job from gardener Steve Wood at Manchester Airport. He’s mowed a giant American flag into the lawn at Spinningfields to kick-off a promotion this weekend where you can win tickets to Washington DC.
The flag is also to celebrate the continued service this winter between the airport and Washington. United Airlines launched the route to the US capital last year. There are strong links between the two cities. Manchester is already home to George Grey Barnard’s bronze statue of Abraham Lincoln, who thanked the people of Manchester for their support of the Union and the abolition of slavery during the American Civil War.
For a chance to win tickets to Washington on United Airlines, visit Spinningfields this Friday and Saturday.
