Join Masterchef champ Steven Wallis on a foodie break

A former Masterchef winner is to host a foodie break in Cornwall.

Steven Wallis (above, second from right), who picked up the coveted TV cooking gong in 2007 will be taking part in a weekend celebrating the county’s food at a luxury self-catering holiday apartments.

Held from June 6-9 at Hawke’s Point, the weekend will include workshops that study the regions’ traditional dishes, including Stargazy Pie, Cornish Oggies, Scrowlers and Saffron Buns.

He will also demonstrate dishes using seafood including lobster, crab, mussels and turbot, with new versions of fish & chips, paella and chowders incorporating Cornish ingredients including clotted cream, yarg and Cornish mead.

Ingredients will be sourced with visits to fish markets and local organic farms and dairies and there will be the chance to meet the region’s independent farmers and food and drinks suppliers including St Ives Beef, Polgoon Cornish Champagne, Moomaid ice cream of Zennor and Tregothnan tea plantation.

The weekend costs from £650 per person, to include three nights’ accommodation, daily workshops and excursions, an organic food hamper plus a two hosted dinners.
