Melanie Sykes to open Motorhome and Caravan Show

Motorhome and Caravan Show

She used to serve Boddingtons from the window of a camper van, but now Melanie Sykes is opening The Motorhome and Caravan Show this month.

The model and TV presenter, who first made her name in the adverts with the words “do you want a flake in that, love?” will appear at the opening morning of the show  at the NEC Birmingham on Tuesday October 15.

Standing among the £2.5m worth of motorhomes and caravans, the glamourous mum-of-two will declare the show as officially ‘open’ and will share her own childhood memories of caravanning and the great outdoors.

While recognised as being one of the most glamourous women in the UK, down-to-earth Mel still loves the simple pleasures of a caravan holiday.

She says, “I have some golden memories of caravan holidays from my childhood.  It was a time when the family all got together to relax and have fun; playing sports on the beach, climbing trees and building sandcastles. Now I am looking forward to enjoying those experiences again with my own children.”

The Motorhome & Caravan Show will see some 700 caravans, motorhomes, campervans, conversions, folding caravans, trailer tents and holiday homes on display, along with thousands of gadgets and gizmos.

The Motorhome & Caravan Show takes place at the Birmingham NEC from October 15-20.  Advance tickets are £8 for Adults (£10 on the door), £7 for seniors 60+ years (£9 on the door) and  children under 16 years are free.
