New Year Northern Lights

With NASA predicting that this year’s Northern Lights will be better than ever, there’s the chance to see them in style with a trip to a remote Norwegian archipelago.

The Lofoten Islands offer awe-inspiring scenery and almost 24 hours of spooky darkness throughout the winter, making it an ideal spot from which to see the Lights which are expected to be brighter than ever thanks to a ‘solar maximum’ – a peak in the sun’s cycle.

Taber Holidays is offering four days on the islands over the New Year on a trip which will also focus on the unique history and culture of the islands, including a guided tour to Lofotr, the Viking Museum at Borg; a trip to Hov, one of the best places from which to see the Northern Lights; and a visit to the Polar Lights Centre at Laukvik.

Four nights’ full board at the Rica Svolvær Hotel is from £1,598 per person, including flights from Gatwick on December 28.
