North Norfolk’s Halloween half-term

Snagglefang’s Spooky Spectacular

North Norfolk may be famed for Alan Partridge but there’s a different kind of horror this Halloween half-term with a host of spooky attractions.

Creepy crawlies

Freaked out by the smallest of spiders? Then get ready to be spooked at Holkham Halloween Horrors from October 27-31 when spiders of all shapes and sizes will invade the hall and gardens. A giant web maze will be woven on the grass in the walled gardens and craft activities to make an eight-legged creature will guarantee a reminder of terrifying encounters.

Prices from £7 to £12 for adults and £3.50 to £6 for children depending on activity.

Revenge for adults

Holkham Hall is hosting a spine-tingling tale of mystery, mayham and murder at a theatre production of Her Lady’s Revenge on October 30 and 31. Revel in a spooky tale of ghosts from the past and brutal experiments in the sanatorium!

£18 per person and not suitable for under 14s.

Prepare to be BeWILDerd

Make slitherigrub cocoons out of willow and paper and take part in a search through the woods for the chief BeWILDerBat at BeWILDerwood’s Snagglefang’s Spooky Spectacular (above) between October 26 and November 3. You can also make crafts in the Big Hat, see a blazing bonfire and try out the new steepier Slippery Slope.

Included in general admission. Adults £13.50 and children £11.50. People under 92cm go free.

Ride the Ghost Train

North Norfolk Railway’s famous Poppy Line will be having a spooky Hallowe’en week over half term, with Weybourne Station turned into a Halloween Hall and a haunt of witches, warlocks, shuddering spiders and ghouls and goblins on-board the train. The ghost train will follow its usual timetable departing from Sheringham and Holt.

Rover tickets: £11 for adults and children £7.50.
