Paultons Park voted No1 amusement park in the UK

Well done Peppa Pig! Paultons Park, home of Peppa Pig World, has been named No1 best amusement park in the UK, in the TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice awards.

It is also rated as the sixth best-rated amusement park in Europe, ranking ahead of the famous Walt Disney Studios Park – the second of two parks at Disneyland Paris – and 22nd in the world.

Entry to the Paultons Park for a family of four costs £99 and for those wanting to stay overnight, a nearby hotel is bookable on TripAdvisor for an average of £101 during the summer months.

Paultons Park also boasts attractions such as Lost Kingdom (above), its new dinosaur-themed area set in four acres of Jurassic landscape with a whole host of dinosaur themed rides including two family rollercoasters: Flight of the Pterosaur and Velociraptor.

MD Richard Mancey said: “We are thrilled to have been named the UK’s number one amusement park. This is a huge achievement and testament that the quality of Paultons Park as a family attraction is translating into so many positive reviews.

“We aim to offer our families a memorable experience and to be recognised as sixth in Europe and twenty-second in the world is fantastic. The fact the award has been won through the positive responses of the public makes this an even bigger achievement which the team are very proud of.”

Travellers’ Choice awards honour top travel spots worldwide based on the millions of reviews and opinions from TripAdvisor travellers.

The UK actually boasts more winning parks than elsewhere in Europe. Six winning parks are named in Europe’s top 25. Paultons Park, Blackpool Pleasure Beach, Alton Towers, Adventure Island in Southend-on-Sea, Brighton Pier and Drayton Manor in Tamworth come in sixth, ninth, eleventh, 17th, 20th and 22nd respectively.

TripAdvisor booking research found that the cost for a family of four to visit an award-winning amusement park in the UK this summer will vary hugely depending on where you plan to visit, especially when you factor in added costs beyond just the price of entry, such as accommodation.

TripAdvisor spokesperson, Hayley Coleman, said: “For parents planning family outings during the upcoming school holiday, this list should offer up plenty of inspiration. With admission prices for a family of four at just £51 and TripAdvisor hotel room rates bookable for £98, it’s the UK’s eighth-ranked GreenWood Forest Park that offers the best value this summer at £149 in total.”

TripAdvisor research revealed the cost of visiting each of the 10 best rated UK amusement parks for a family of four, including the average nightly rate for a stay in a nearby hotel during the summer months of July, August and September. Take a look at the Top 10.
