Your Hols is already looking forward to one event this summer – the return of one of the favourite bands of our youth, The Boomtown Rats.

Bob Geldof, Johnnie Fingers and the rest of the band have announced they will be appearing at this year’s Isle of Wight Festival.

The band will be playing together for the first time since 1986, appearing on the main stage at the festival on June 16. The band join a line up that includes The Stone Roses, The Killers and Bon Jovi.

The festival takes place over the weekend of June 13-16  and other acts include The Script – featuring Danny O’Donoghue from The Voice – Paul Weller, Emeli Sande, Ellie Goulding, Paloma Faith, The Maccabees and Bloc Party.

Ferry operator Wightlink is offering reduced price ‘Early Bird’ tickets for those wishing to visit the festival and see the band’s return. Tickets cost from £203.30 for foot passengers (normally £210.20) and four people travelling together can save a total of £40 as a car plus four tickets costs £890.50 – or £222.63pp (normally £930.60 / £232.65pp).
