Ring-on the changes with Air New Zealand

Ringons – as Lord of the Rings fans are known – will love the livery on Air New Zealand’s new Boeing 777-300, the plane is a flying billboard for the prequel to JRR Tolkein’s masterful trilogy, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.

Filmed in New Zealand by director Sir Peter Jackson and starring Martin Freeman as Bilbo Baggins, The Hobbit is released later this month and Air New Zealand carries the tag, “the official airline of Middle-earth.”

The plane was unveiled in Wellington this morning with some very special guests in tow, including director Peter Jackson and Tolkein’s great grandson, Royd Tolkien.
