See Emile Sande in Dublin on Arthur’s Day

Emile Sande in Dublin

September 26 sees the Irish celebrate Arthur’s Day in honour of the day in 1759 when Arthur Guinness signed the 9,000-year lease on a disused brewery and started brewing the black stuff. And as part of the celebrations, there will be a number of secret gigs in Dublin, Cork, Limerick and Belfast featuring Emile Sande. the Manic Street Preachers and Bobby Womack.

Tickets for the gigs go on sale on September 4 and each one costs €10 – but you only find out who is playing on the day. Proceeds go to charity and tickets can be booked at Ticketmaster.ie. And don’t worry if you miss out on a ticket – Guinness sponsors more than 500 free gigs in pubs across the country on the same day.

If you want to go over for the gigs, Irish Ferries has SailRail tickets from mainline stations in the UK and a ferry for £64 return, or £214 return in your own car.

Alternatively Irish Ferries Holidays has packages of ferry crossings with three nights at the Regency Hotel in Dublinand ferry tickets from £338 per couple.
