A swimming pool and Wi-Fi are the things British travellers want most in their perfect hotel, according to a new survey.
Travel search site Skyscanner surveyed 1,000 British travellers to find out what their ideal holiday abode looks like, and the most-wanted key features differed greatly between men and women in the poll.
Wi-Fi was prioritised by 50% of men, but less than a third of women, while 18% of men want a gym and sporting facilities, compared to less than 10% of women.
The results also showed that 11% of women prioritised luxury bath products, compared to 6% of men, while family-owned hotels were a surprise hit with men, being ranked second most favoured hotel type, while women only ranked them in 4th.
While 13% of women voted a room with a view as their top requirement, a massive 72% of them wanted to see the sea compared to only 63% of men. Just over a quarter of women (26%) wanted the view to be of a cityscape or landmark, compared to over a third of men (36%) who chose the urban outlook.
