Say ‘yes’ to summer 2015 holidays in Greece

summer 2015 holidays in Greece

Spending your summer 2015 holidays in Greece and worried about the results of the referendum? Don’t be. While the No result might have financial implications around Europe, people on the ground are still saying a firm Yes to a holiday according to these reports from tour operators.

Noel Josephides, Chairman of Greek specialists Sunvil Holidays
Noel is currently travelling in Greece in Thessaloniki and his report on Sunday evening stated: “One is tempted to say ‘what’ crisis? It is Sunday night, not the most popular of nights to go out, but the cafés and tavernas are full. Plenty of talk about the economic situation but life goes on as normal. This is a vibrant city with a student population of 150,000 and it is no less vibrant today than on any other occasion when I have visited.”

A Sunvil staff member also tweeted from Lefkas: ‘Nothing different here’, a normal day on #Lefkas yesterday. #Greece #sunviltrip #locallifegoeson

Ionian & Aegean Island Holidays‘ British customers Eddie & Jean

“My wife and I are currently in Kefalonia enjoying yet another wonderful holiday booked through Ionian & Aegean. Anyone concerned about booking a trip to Greece should be reassured that on the islands everything is operating as normal apart from the fact that credit cards may not be accepted for payment in certain shops. However, ATM machines are functioning and non-Greeks are not restricted in the amount they withdraw. The Greek people are as friendly, welcoming and generous as they always have been so please don’t think of not visiting due to the current situation. Obviously, the locals are very concerned about the state of their economy but the last thing they need is for tourists to stop visiting.”

No jostling at cash points, no uproar… Just people getting on with it, confident it will get sorted…getting cash out of the ATM was easy. I’m currently in a beach side tavern where there are lots of people eating, working and the vibe is chilled.”
