Swim with sea turtles in Tenerife

If you’re looking for a Tenerife holiday with a difference, how about swimming with sea turtles on the Canary Island?

Guests at the  5* Roca Nivaria Gran Hotel – one of Adrian Hoteles’ three luxury properties in Tenerife’s Costa Adeje – now have the opportunity to get close and personal with a resident colony of loggerhead sea turtles on the new weekly kayaking excursions departing from the hotel’s own beach.

The kayaking tours depart every Wednesday (provided that there is a minimum of three bookings) and take guests along Tenerife’s western cost to the Port of Armeñime, where a small colony of “Tortuga Boba” (loggerhead sea turtles) lives all year round. Here, guests will be able to jump into the water to snorkel and observe these majestic sea creatures from a closer distance.

The tour, provided by the Guia de Isora Water Sports Centre, takes around two and a half hours, including an introductory training session. An expert guide travels with the group on a zodiac boat to provide further assistance and information. Children from six years old are welcome, provided that they are accompanied by an adult.

The Kayaking Tours costs €35 (approximately £30) per person. Accommodation at the 5* Roca Nivaria Gran Hotel starts from €81 (approximately £70) per person per night, half board (based on two people sharing a double room).
