A 2-star hotel in Crete has topped a poll to find customers’ 20 best hotels. Travel Republic holidaymakers were asked to choose their favourite hotels after staying in them during last year.
At number one is the two-star Renieris Hotel in Kato Stalos, Crete, which offers “supreme service and amazing value”, with rooms from just £28 per night. Guests at the Renieries Hotel were delighted with the hotel, commenting: “I’ve never experienced such hospitality” and “the family who own and run this hotel more than justify the awards they have gained”.
Travel Republic customers were asked to rank the hotel they stayed in, from 1 (very poor) to 10 (spectacular). They could only take part if they had booked and returned from their stay, to ensure reviews were 100% genuine. The Top 20 list is compiled from all ratings received in 2013.
Travel Republic chief executive Paul Furner said: “The Renieris Hotel received an almost perfect score – 9.56 out of 10 – making it the highest ranking hotel, but all the hotels included deserve recognition. With more than 265,000 hotels on TravelRepublic.co.uk, securing a spot in the top 20 is an incredible achievement.”In 2013 TravelRepublic.co.uk customers added more than 150,000 new reviews, taking the total to more than 700,000.
