Top 5 lads’ holiday hotspots

Lads' holiday hotspots

Boys will be boys and they’d argue that holidaying together is necessary for a spot of male bonding. Read excuse for getting blathered and avoiding any household jobs! So where are the most popular lads’ holiday hotspots? Our friends at www.latedeals.co.uk – who offer deals for all budgets – have listed their Top 5:

Party hard in Majorca: Majorca offers the perfect Mediterranean escape, with its beautiful sandy beaches and crystal clear waters…by day. Then by night it comes alive! Magaluf has the classic ingredients for a lads’ holiday if you want to party hard, plus it’s great value. There’s still plenty happening in September with temperatures remaining in the mid-twenties. The resort is crammed with cafes and clubs open 24/7 attracting the likes of Chipmunk and Tinchy Stryder,  so if you’ve got the stamina to dance until your drop after basking in the sun and soaking up the rays all day, it’s the perfect party getaway.

Gumbet, a beachside gem: Located on the south west coast of Turkey, Gumbet offers an enticing mix of sun, sea, sand and lively nightlife. Not quite as full-on as Magaluf but in recent times, the resort has been labelled the new “frontier for lads’ holidays”. The hot summer season runs until October and prices are a dream just now. You won’t get lost finding the bars and cafes as the aptly named ‘Bar Street’ lines the beach. And it’s also a stunning place to be – set amongst lush green scenery, with rolling hills and deep valleys in the background.

The Algarve, a golfer’s paradise: If a more relaxing break is on the bill then the Algarve has it all – luxury resorts, award-winning golf courses and a fantastic climate. A holiday favourite with both Cristiano Ronaldo and Lenny Kravitz, you can spend a couple of days chilling on the beach before getting down to some serious extreme sports like kite surfing, rock climbing and wakeboarding. And there’s the small detail of 40 golf courses, set in some of the region’s most stunning scenery, making it a golfer’s paradise and one of the world’s best golfing destinations.

Smoking hot Cuba: It’s pricier, but Cuba is a dream vacation offering a delicious cocktail of scorching weather, brilliant beaches, mouth-watering food, rum on tap, all day partying, hypnotic Latin rhythms, classic car spotting and the Havana cigar factory! The list goes on. But with a pace of life a notch below laidback, it’s a trip to be savoured and well worth the cash if you have it, enjoyed by the likes of Jay-Z and English actor, Clive Owen.

Italy: OK, there is a Grand Prix there in September which is a big plus for Formula 1 enthusiasts, and the country has some great golf courses, but Italy is becoming a more popular haunt for the more discerning groups of lads who want something a little different for their male bonding trips.  Fabulous food and wine combined with breathtaking scenery and a rich cultural heritage gives a more alternative ‘lads’ experience and one to relish.

Nicola Defty, of Latedeals.co.uk said: “There’s no set formula for a lad’s holiday but the one thing it does need to offer is the chance for men to spend some quality time together. It’s also the type of break that’s not necessarily planned well in advance but can often be a spur of the moment decision, or dictated by circumstances.

“On average, we have anything between 200,000 to 400,000 deals departing within eight weeks at any given time. We’re constantly updating the offers so there’s a huge choice of holidays to suit all tastes and ages, at a wide variety of price points so it’s worthwhile hanging on and booking late to snap up a bargain perfect for all the lads!”
