Trek for your favourite charity

Global Adventure Challenges

YourHols is all in favour of raising money for charities and if you can enjoy a holiday at the same time, all the better. There’s an 11-day trip over Easter which still has places if you fancy a change from munching through lots of chocolate. The Global Adventure Challenges trek in Nepal stretches from a sub-tropical river basin, up stone staircases, through rhododendron forests and Gurkha villages to Poon Hill at 3,210 metres. That a good enough challenge for you?

The registration fee is £299 and you can either raise a minimum sponsorship of £2,575 or self-fund for £1,149 and raise extra money for your favourite charity separately. You will need to be fit as there are six days of consecutive trekking, at altitude in varied temperatures, but the rewards are great. The pinnacle of the trek at Poon Hill offers unobstructed views of stunning Himalayan mountain ranges while visiting the mountain villages gives a fascinating insight into the hospitality and culture of Nepalese people.

If this trek appeals, but you’d like more time to get fit and raise money, the trip runs again on September 26. See www.globaladventurechallenges.com/international/poon-hill-trek/#trek
