TUI picks top hotspots for 2018 as it lifts ban on holidays to Tunisia

Great to hear that TUI is selling holidays to Tunisia again. The company has a choice of three hotels in Hammamet from May with four flights a week from Birmingham, Bristol, Manchester and Gatwick to Enfidha.

TUI stopped flying to Tunisia after 30 Brits were killed during an Islamic State attack at a hotel on the beach in Sousse in June 2015.

TUI has just had its busiest day, Sunshine Saturday, where nearly one million people visited a TUI shop or the website, looking for their 2018 holiday.

Turkey, Montenegro, Halkidiki, Croatia and Cape Verde are expected to be among the most popular destinations with those booking beach holidays and seven and 14-night breaks are giving way to 10 and 11-night holidays.

For customers looking to travel further afield, Goa, Costa Rica and Vietnam are expected to be in high demand for 2018. Sunseekers who are looking to experience more during their annual holiday have helped see the rise of multicentre holiday bookings in 2018.

Richard Sofer, of TUI UK and Ireland said: “Over the last few years we’ve seen an early booking trend for summer holidays and this week we expect this trend to continue. We expect to see Brits returning to classic mid-haul favourites such as Turkey and exploring new destinations such as European hotspot Montenegro, which is set to be the new mid-haul gem, as people look for holidays that offer more than just a week on the beach.”
