TV’s Michaela Strachan goes wild at Ribby Hall Village

Michaela Strachan

TV’s Michaela Strachan was the perfect celebrity to open Ribby Hall Village’s new attraction Wild Discovery.

The new hands-on animal experience lets children get up close to learn about a variety of species including insects, birds, reptiles, amphibians and mammals. And Michaela knows all about that from hosting her Really Wild Adventures Show.

She says: “An attraction like Wild Discovery is fantastic for encouraging children to learn about animals and their habitats. Set within a holiday village, Wild Discovery will bring animal encounters to a new audience and add another dimension to the holiday experience.”

Wild Discovery is made up of four areas – The Farmyard, Safari Walk, Exotics House and Birds of the World – and there are interactive talks and presentations for all ages along the way.

Wild Discovery director Neil Trickett says: “Wild Discovery is an interactive and educational wildlife centre for all ages, promoting animal welfare and conservation of the world’s biodiversity.

“It has a been a personal ambition of mine to create a wildlife centre where children and adults can enjoy up-close experiences with animals that they may never have seen before.

“It was great to have Michaela for the official opening. She is well known for her work with wildlife and the outdoors and she is a familiar face with adults and children. Her show puts the fun into learning which is what we hope to do with Wild Discovery.”
