Warwick Castle gets Horrible

warwick

Warwick Castle has teamed up with popular children’s books Horrible Histories to offer three ‘Foul Fayres’ this year.

The medieval castle. built from an original built by William the Conqueror, will host the fares to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the books.

The fares will be held at Awesome Easter (March 23 – April 14), Wicked Whitsun (May 25 – June 1) and Stormin’ Summer (July 20 – September 1) and take the best bits of the irreverent books written by Terry Deary to immerse visitors of all ages in the most gruesome and most fun aspects of Britain’s history.

Troubled tales from the books will come to life at five camps set in the castle grounds, with the characters at Warwick Castle telling of just how lousy life was over the centuries.

Tim Harrison-Jones, General Manager at Warwick Castle said: “Given the hellish history we’ve seen here over the past 1,000 years, Warwick Castle is the perfect spot for a gruesome gathering to mark 20 years of Horrible Histories. Kids – and their parents – can enjoy the Foul Fayres at no additional cost as part of their full day out at Warwick Castle and feel totally immersed in history.”

Warwick Castle has frozen entry prices at 2012 prices and those booking seven days in advance get a further 20 per cent off, making entry for adults from £18.24, children from £12.48 and seniors from £13.44.
