Weak euro brings holiday boost for France

holiday boost for France
Low petrol prices and the weak euro is bringing a holiday boost for France.
Siblu Holidays is predicting a bumper year for family holidays over the Channel after reporting a 25% increase in bookings at its coastal holiday villages during the first two weeks of January.
Lower petrol costs and a weak Euro are making it cheaper for UK families in France and siblu has launched discounts of up to 20% on holidays booked before January 31 to boost savings still further.
West coast destinations in the Vendee and Charente Maritime have fared best for early bookings, suggesting Brits are going in search of the sunshine but avoiding the longest drives to the south coast.
Muireann Larré-Larrouy, Siblu marketing manager, says: “UK petrol prices have fallen by almost 30p in 12 months, making it significantly cheaper for Brits taking self drive holidays. Fuel prices in France are down too with the result that one litre of petrol now costs less than £1, and diesel is cheaper.
“And with the value of the euro falling against the pound, a family’s spending money will go even further. This is great money-saving news for Brits heading to France and we are already seeing families take advantage.”
Siblu has savings of up to 20% at holiday villages across France for bookings made in January, with free children’s clubs, pool complexes and entertainment included with every holiday.
Les Charmettes, Charente Maritime
Les Charmettes’ five-pool indoor and outdoor swimming complex (above) is being revamped for the 2015 season with a new aqua splash zone in place for the summer season. Holidays start from £1,780 for four people staying 14 nights from August 1, saving £197 when booked before January 31.
Les Sables du Midi, Languedoc
Siblu has added a new heated outdoor pool, waterslide and aqua splash zone to Les Sables du Midi holiday village in Languedoc on France’s Mediterranean coast. A two-week holiday for a family of four from July 18 now starts from £1,641, saving £410.
Le Montourey, Cote d’Azur
Bask in the Mediterranean sunshine this summer with a stay in Frejus on France’s glamorous Cote d’Azur. Siblu’s Le Montourey holiday village has its own pools and kids’ clubs, and is within a short drive of glitzy destinations including St Tropez, Cannes and Nice. Save more than £446 on a 14-night holiday for four people from August 1, which now starts from £1,790 staying in a two-bedroom holiday home with terrace and air con.
