Whale meet again!

The Steenberg

We might be turning the central heating off but it’s hotting up in South Africa.

Our autumn is their spring and it’s whale-watching time on the Garden Route between Cape Town and Port Elizabeth, famous for its vineyards.

Now you can have the best of both worlds because the Boutique Constantia hotel and wine estate, Steenbergand luxury resort, Fancourt, have teamed up with Somak Holidays to launch a Wine & Whale package.

Unusual we know but sounds idyllic.

The seven-night package takes visitors to the spectacular whale and dolphin-watching spots of Hermanus, near Cape Town, and Mossel Bay, Knysna, Plettenberg Bay and Wilderness along the Garden Route.

You’ll also tour vineyards there and in Little Karoo.

Steenberg is the oldest farm in the picturesque Constantia valley, with a history dating back to the first wine production in 1695.

The package from £2,222 per person can be booked on www.somak.com or call 020 8423 3000. Available until October 31 but there’s always next year.
