Where’s Malta? Most people don’t know!

It’s here if you’re wondering

One in four people in the UK have no idea where Malta is according to a survey released today.

Despite almost 2,000 people using the Google search terms “Where is Malta?” each month, the survey showed that the country is still not learning. Incorrect answers included Red Sea, Atlantic Sea, the Baltic Sea and simply “I don’t know”.

The lowcostholidays.com Malta survey looks at how people perceive Malta as a tourist destination. Other surprising findings included nearly 8 per cent of people thinking Malta isn’t its own country, 19 per cent believing Malta uses the old Lira instead of the Euro and a third didn’t recognise the names of major Maltese tourist resorts.

Lawrence Hunt, COO of lowcostholidays.com said: “We are currently the UK’s No. 1 tour operator to Malta and it’s astonishing to learn that so many people lack a basic understanding of this exciting destination.”
