Whisk off on whiskey weekend

Old-Midleton-Distillery

This is a craic-ing weekend! Wiskey tasting in one of Ireland’s most gorgeous cities – Cork. The Travel Department’s new two-day trip lets you learn about, sample and compare the fine whiskeys of Midleton.

You’ll visit the Old Midleton Distillery (above) to sample Green Spot and Yellow Spot, two of only a few single pot still whiskeys produced in Ireland. After a day at leisure, enjoy more whiskey tasting with Heidi Donelon, one of Ireland’s foremost experts. The Midleton Distillery was established in the early 17th century and produces whiskies such as Jameson – the best-selling Irish whiskey in the world – Powers, Paddy and Midleton Very Rare.

The trip departs from Heathrow on April 19 and costs £429 per person. The price includes return Aer Lingus flights, transfers, two nights B&B at the four-star Silver Springs Hotel in Cork, the distillery visit and whiskey tasting. A single room is available for a supplement of £55.
