Abseilers put pumpkin on top of the O2!

O2

This has to be the highest pumpkin anywhere. It’s on top of the 100-metre iconic yellow masts above London’s O2 which is 52 metres above the ground!

Extreme abseilers Manta Ray – Kevin Gleeson and Nick Farrer – scaled the masts in North Greenwich to place the pumpkin for everyone to see to kick off Halloween Up at the O2. “Climb of the Cursed: Final Ascent” from October 18 until November 3 is a thrilling haunted climb featuring live actors and a lost explorers theme. As if being that high wasn’t scary enough.

They are billing the Halloween event The Mission: “In the Winter of 1983, a group of intrepid explorers accepted a secret mission to conquer the icy plains of the frozen wilderness. Five set off. No one returned. Now it’s your turn to follow in the footsteps of doomed expedition team, Terra Ignota, and find out what happened on their fateful trip. But not everything is quite as it seems…

As the ascent begins and the chill takes its toll, Mother Nature won’t be your only enemy. No one can prepare for what awaits them at the summit as this adventure of discovery becomes a fight for survival. Only the toughest will live to tell the tale.”

Online advance tickets if you are brave enough: from £25 for daytime climbs and from £30 after dark. Minimum ages is 10. See www.theo2.co.uk/climb-of-the-cursed
