Haven wins award for beer

If you want a decent pint on holiday, head to a Haven holiday park.

Haven is the first holiday park company to be awarded Cask Marque accreditation – ensuring beer is kept to the highest standards. This year 34 Haven parks – including Devon Cliffs (complex manager Ross Clark holds an award, above) – will be serving award-winning pints of Marston’s ale including Pedigree and Wychwood’s Hobgoblin.

Roger Clayson, for Cask Marque, said: “It’s superb news to be able to credit the Haven destinations for the quality of their cask ale. Holiday parks don’t usually use cask ale as part of their product line-up.”

A spokesperson for Haven says: “We are delighted our parks have achieved this award. The assessors turn up unannounced twice a year and the beer is tested for its aroma, temperature, clarity and taste. It takes around two weeks for the beer to be brewed before being served on one of our parks so it’s really important that after all that effort we take good care of it.”

A short break with Haven in spring starts from £90 at The Orchards Holiday Park in Essex. Price based on a family sharing standard accommodation on a three-night self-catering break on March 28.
