British Airways is today voted the No1 airline in a Superbrands poll for quality, reliability and distinction. The airline came second place to Apple in the poll of UK business professionals and fourth in the Top 20 Consumer Superbrands – jumping 29 places from last year.
Independently co-ordinated by The Centre for Brand Analysis, the survey considers thousands of brands that are judged by both an Expert Council and more than 1,900 individual business professionals and 2,900 British consumers.
Other travel and holiday companies which made the lists below include Virgin Atlantic, Hilton, Heathrow Airport and Disney.
Stephen Cheliotis, Chairman of the Superbrands Expert Council, said: “It is a huge achievement that British Airways has beaten tough competition to take its place in both the Business and Consumer Superbrands results – ranking in the top five for both. It is credit to its bold brand activity in 2012, that it has achieved such recognition.”
Abigail Comber, BA’s head of marketing, said: “We are delighted to be voted as the number one airline. To be recognised by the industry and customers is a real honour. We are very proud of the success we achieved as official airline of the London 2012 Games, and our provoking Home Advantage campaign, which really resonated with the public.”
