Ben Fogle is to become an ambassador for Virgin Holidays.
The TV presenter, writer and adventurer is taking up the role after 12 months in a similar position for the company’s sister brand Bales Worldwide.
As the companies’ Worldwide Touring Ambassador, Ben’s job will be to help increase awareness of holidays offered by Virgin Holidays and Bales Worldwide, from Rafting in Costa Rica to a hot air balloon ride over the Bagan temples in Burma.
Fogle knows a bit about touring and travel. His achievements include racing 160 miles across the Sahara desert in the notorious Marathon Des Sables, rowing the Atlantic Ocean in 49 days with Olympian James Cracknell and crossing Antarctica in a foot race to the South Pole.
He has also presented numerous programmes including BBC’s Animal Park, Wild In Africa, Countryfile, Crufts, One Man and His Dog and Extreme Dreams and he is also the author of five bestselling books.
He said: “After being Ambassador for Bales last year, I am thrilled to be re-appointed, this time in the role of Worldwide Touring Ambassador for Virgin Holidays and Bales Worldwide. I hope I can share my enthusiasm for travel and inspire customers to truly experience what the world has to offer.”
