If you’ve been taken by the success of Skyfall, why not head for a Bond break in Scotland?

The 5* Isle of Eriska hotel, just off the west coast has launched a new James Bond Escape. Guests get to soak up the atmosphere on the hotel’s private island and visit some famous Bond locations, travelling in the comfort and style of an Aston Martin DB9 and private speedboat!

Guests will pick up their car on arrival at Edinburgh airport and travel in style through the Land of Braveheart, onto the West Highlands of Scotland, passing by the dramatic scenery of Rannoch Moor and Glencoe – the location for much of Skyfall’s epic conclusion.

Arriving in time for afternoon tea, visitors then have time to explore the island, while in the evenings guests will dine in the hotel’s exquisite 3AA Rosette Restaurant.

Bond breaks

Following a Scottish breakfast on day two guests board a private speed boat and cruise through the sea to the Island of Mull and home of the Maclean Clan – Duart Castle. The castle was restored in the early 20th century by Sir Fitzroy Donald MacLean a soldier who parachuted into Yugoslavia to assist the resistance in WW2. MacLean’s incredible exploits as a soldier are said to have been the origins of Ian Fleming’s James Bond and 007.

On the second night, there is a Martini cocktail master class and another dinner in the hotel restaurant.

The final day sees visits to famous movie scenes from From Russia with Love and The Spy Who Loved Me before heading back to Edinburgh.
