David Bowie has today released his first single “Where are we now” in 10 years to celebrate his 66th birthday – showcasing Berlin in the accompanying video.

He re-lives his time in the city where he created lots of his music in the 1970s reminiscing over old haunts. If Bowie inspires you to visit, the German Travel Centre has a two-night break from £249 per person including return flights from Heathrow, Birmingham or Manchester and B&B in a central hotel.

Berlin is one of the coolest cities in Germany, a fascinating and intriguing mix of east and west, of both old and new. With many famous attractions such as the Brandenburg Gate, the remains of the Berlin Wall, the Stasi Exhibition and the Checkpoint Charlie Museum, the city is also renowned for its fantastic clubbing scene and nightlife.

Home to many excellent museums with several well-known ones on Museum Island, including the Pergamon Museum – Berlin’s most visited museum – this German city is a great place for music and theatre lovers alike, with many venues catering for all tastes.
