Cameron’s opening Gambit at Heathrow

Hollywood star Cameron Diaz isn’t used to hanging around Heathrow airport but she spent plenty of time in Terminal 5 while filming her new movie Gambit.

The terminal, BA’s home, appears in the new Coen brothers movie which also stars Colin Firth and Alan Rickman and is released in cinemas across the UK tomorrow, November 21. Other famous British locations include The Savoy, Syon House and Compton Verney art gallery in Warwickshire.

In the film, private art curator Harry Deane (Firth) devises a finely crafted scheme to con England’s richest man and avid art collector, Lionel Shabandar (Rickman), into purchasing a fake Monet painting. In order to bait his buyer, he recruits a Texas rodeo queen (Diaz) to cross the pond and pose as a woman whose grandfather liberated the painting at the end of World War II.

British Airways ambassador Helena Flynn, who also doubled as Diaz in a number of the airport scenes, said: “We get to do a lot of fun and interesting events as ambassadors, but spending a week in the shoes of Cameron Diaz has to be one of my highlights. We all really enjoyed working with the team and can’t wait for it to be on board flights for customers to enjoy too.”
