Campsites are reopening in the UK and abroad

Back in business: Embers Camping is re-opening its sites to families

Campsites across the UK and Europe are gearing up to open again. And owners are expecting a flood of visitors from families preferring to go camping where they can be guaranteed more space. Your-Hols will bring you news of openings as they are announced.

Embers Camping is opening on July 4 and they are offering 20% off bookings at one of its top sites, Claydon in Buckinghamshire, made before 8pm on June 30. The discount is available for stays between July 4 and September 30 this year. Prices start from £87.36 for a pitch only two-night stay, based on two adults and two children. For bookings visit:

The campsite is in 5,000 acres of farmland with glorious gardens and parkland to explore. Those craving a life lazing near the river can head to Henley-on-Thames and pitch camp just a short stroll from Temple Island and the centre of this historic town. Those wanting a seaside escape should head to Pylewell Park, situated in the middle of the New Forest with plenty of outdoor activities on offer. Other sites are: Bentley in Sussex and Polesden Lacey, Surrey.

Embers campsites have purpose-built washroom facilities, wood-fired pizza ovens, fire baskets on each pitch and an onsite shop. And, because of Covid-19, the staff have introduced hand sanitiser stations, frequent deep cleans throughout the day and ongoing briefings and training sessions for staff. Each site’s layout and generous pitch sizes make social distancing easy, each tent will be marked out and a queuing system will be in place outside public areas. says bookings have surged since the government announced that holiday accommodation can re-open from the beginning of July.

And Cool Camping, which features more than 600 campsites across the UK and 190 in France, has launched a Coronavirus booking guarantee.

Families not wanting to go camping abroad until next year can book a holiday with Eurocamp with just a £99 deposit.
