It’s child’s play for BA

Skyflyers Robbie and Jenny 3

British Airways’ busiest day for Christmas travel is this Friday and as a special gift, the airline has announced a number of new measures to keep younger passengers happy on the ground and on flights.

In  the lounges at Heathrow Terminal 5 children will start to see refreshed ‘Kidszones’ featuring bright new furniture, including beanbags and floor cushions, talking mirrors on the walls, sensory blocks and aviation-inspired toys for younger children.

In Skyflyer Solo lounges, used by children travelling alone, new additions include table football, mini fridges stocked with snacks and drinks and Allsorts ottomans, designed by Davison Highley to  look like liquorice allsort sweets.

The airline has also teamed up with Microsoft to provide Xbox games in the  Kidszones  and  Xbox Kinect ones in the Skyflyer Solo lounges.

Changes are also being for younger passengers in the air too. Extended in-flight entertainment means can get stuck into their favourite programmes as soon as they board, while ‘Skyflyer’ packs for children have also been created which include an activity book, crayons or pens in a drawstring bag.
