Cruise offers on Ellie’s new Breakaway

Ellie Simmonds

To celebrate the launch of new ship Norwegian Breakaway, Norwegian Cruise Line is offering £150 off cabins on voyages across the fleet.

Paralympic gold medallist Ellie Simmonds was one of the first on board for the UK inaugural in Southampton this week – opening the ship’s amazing Aqua Park and  to helping raise funds for a special ‘Breakaway Water Project’ to bring clean water to an African village.

Ellie said: “I am so excited to be involved in the project. And the ship is fantastic, as a swimmer I love being around water and it is designed for that purpose.”

The Aqua Park has five major waterslides, including twin “free fall” dropping passengers several storeys before spinning them in a loop. There are also two pools, four hot tubs and a SpongeBob-themed watery play area with squirting water features designed for youngsters.

A three-storey sports complex has a ropes course, miniature golf course, basketball court, rock climbing wall, bungee trampoline and a 24-foot enclosed climbing cage called the Spider Web.

There are restaurants looking out to sea and a theatre with shows such as Rock of Ages.

The £150 offer for bookings until May 14 includes Norwegian Breakaway’s inaugural nine-night sailing from New York to Bermuda, Norwegian Epic’s seven-night Western Mediterranean, and Norwegian Getaway’s nine-night Eastern Caribbean from Miami itinerary. Prices from £709 per person.
