Details for Yorkshire Olympic heroes’ parade in Leeds

Yorkshire Olympic heroes' parade

Thousands of people will line the streets of Leeds on Wednesday to celebrate the success of Yorshire’s Olympic heroes in a special homecoming parade.

Welcome to Yorkshire, in association with Leeds City Council, have organised the event which includes both Yorkshire’s Olympic and Paralympic athletes.

They include triathletes Alistair and Jonny Brownlee (above), World, European and Paralympic champion Hannah Cockroft MBE, diver and gold medallist Jack Laugher and rowers Andy Triggs Hodge and Paul Bennett who both claimed gold.

There will be a lively parade, with samba bands, brass bands, colourful performances and of course open top buses and vehicles carrying the athletes.

Parade celebrations start at 5.15pm along this route

The council is also asking shops, cafés, restaurants, bars and offices to join in by decorating their windows.

See here for some ideas and how the best dressed window can win a team building day at Camp Hill Estate to include powerturn racing, rage buggy racing, Segway challenge and the bobsleigh challenge!
