The three-part Land of the Midnight Sun kicked off on ITV last night, and if you want to follow hostAlexander Armstrong in the Arctic, here’s how.

The TV presenter and comedian embarked on an epic 8,000 mile journey across the Arctic Circle. During his trip he experienced one of the most authentic methods of  travel – a Hurtigruten ship.

Alexander travelled in winter and in the first programme was seen taking a dip in the icy Arctic sea, with other activities including husky sledging, king crab fishing, snowmobiling and staying in a Snow hotel – as well as the chance to see the Northern Lights.

A five-day Arctic Highlghts package, including a three-night voyage from Tromso to Kirkenes and back to Tromso, plus a night in Kirkenes and direct flights currently costs from £749 per person (From London Gatwick on February 21, 2016) with other dates and airports also offered. That price includes a £200 per person discount off the normal price and a free wine or beer package.
